NIKKI WILKINS YOGA
My story
Finding strength
Chronic knee pain through my 20's made any kind of exercise painful and I had lost all motivation. The pain was getting worse. By the time i was in my thirties, I would cry walking down stairs and after no help from GPs I decided to take things into my own hands. In 2011 I met a wonderful physiotherapist who recommended Yoga and so I headed off to my nearest studio. Within six weeks my body started to strengthen, the pain lessened, but more importantly, my mind began to transform. Yoga has changed every single aspect of my life and it's true to say it helped me through some of the most difficult times. In 2015 I took Stewart Gilchrist's and Amanda Denton's 200 hour YA Yogasana teacher training, followed by 20 hours with The Breathing Project led by Leslie Kaminoff. In 2019 I completed 50 hours Pranayama with Richard Rosen. In-between lock downs in 2020 50 hours advanced Rocket and in 2021 20 hours Yin with Good Life Yoga School headed by Marcus Veda and Hannah Whittingham. I am eternally grateful to all of my teachers for helping me to find my own strength, physically and mentally and for this path of continual learning and growth.
You can practise with me in studios across east London, online, in my favourite neighbourhood: Walthamstow, and now you can come on retreat with me too.
